Erica Wells is a textile artist based in Naarm (Melbourne) who repurposes discarded objects and textiles into three-dimensional works. Her practice incorporates traditional craft techniques including weaving, sewing, knitting, crochet and embroidery, bringing renewed life to unwanted materials.
A recipient of the 2025 Australian Wool Education Trust scholarship, Wells is currently focusing on the effects of climate change and the loss of biodiversity, and on the role textiles can play within contemporary fine art conversations.
Wells holds a Bachelor of Textiles (Design)
with Distinction from RMIT University (2025).
